Workshop Notes re “When I feel these fears, I sense the horsemen (ver.2)”

This is a reworking of the 2023 version. In this version I worked to remove all words that tend to carry morality baggage (sinful, evil, saved, anointed, grace, saved, lost, etc. The original version is not yet migrated to this new site, but you can view it using this link without having to log into the All Poetry website: https://allpoetry.com/poem/17307638-When-I-feel-these-fears-I-sense-the-horsemen-ver-1-by-Michael-E-Cantrall

I developed this 2nd version while working with poems that aimed for uncertainty, mystery, unresolved tension. The first version tended to have all of these typical “baggage” words in there, which we all include in our daily conversations. I have become more aware of how our current civilization has its vocabulary in most cases wtih at least one and and one arm still inserted firmly into both the Old and New Testament. Anyway, I was pleased with the results, and I was pleased that the results occurred because of something I now practice, or at least try to focus upon, whether I’m talking on the phone, spewing out words in a hurry as I’m flying out the door late for a meeting, or penning some draft lines in my poetry sketchbook (sketchbook #5 now).
