/so open the door and turn down the lamp
/as another slips through the door opened
/in the ghost house of the lonely dweller
/Mirror, mirror on my wall of sinking darkness.
/where mortal mountains sink below the seabed
/that scorn and spurn the hungry words here reveal’d
/now moving about this room
/Crimson’d be the ice cast my way
/where mortal mountains crash before the seabed
/and may the incarnadined sphere now moving about this room
/my background continues to whisper blurs
/Dear Muse, please do, please stay,
/Please never go away
/and may the incarnadined sphere

removed this entire stanza:

/where mortal clocks sink below sod,
/and may the incarnadined gem
/move herein and sense welcome.
/made last four lines a quatrain instead
of a tercet followed by a single line
