When I feel these fears, I sense the horsemen,
Who chase on chilly nights from dream to dream.
I hear their steeds seek within the shadows,
Where embower’d air I breathe does flee from me.
When I now see the mysteries unleashed
Upon earthly beings that seek their maker,
I hear wish-filled wings on withered branches,
And see them seek the mist of incensed sleep.
And when inhaled, soft dust within this space,
I breathe sweet life, and death, and beauty’s wisp.
I taste the tears of winter’s sleeping rose,
Where mossy statues haunt marbled doves in flight.
And when I feel soft wind in rainbow’d skies,
My crimson dream does sing as a witness tree.
